Emily & James 


Emily and James are both teachers who met in freshman orientation at UNC Chapel Hill and have been together ever since. Therefore it was no surprise that the couple wanted to get married on campus where they shared their college years and fell in love. The ceremony took place at University Presbyterian church and the reception at the George Watts Hill Alumni Center. Emily used her favorite color, pink as a recurring theme throughout the wedding. Although the groom’s cake was Carolina blue in honor of the national basketball championship. James proposed to Emily on campus underneath the iconic Davie Poplar tree, so I had to include a photo of them under the tree on their wedding day :). In Lieu of wedding favors, the couple donated in honor of their guests to The Carolina Covenant (a scholarship for low income students to receive a UNC education debt-free). Emily and James surprised me with their awesome dance moves and they knew the words to every song! James gets serious props for singing along with Emily to Mariah Carey with absolutely no hesitation. I was so lucky to have Wendy Sechrest as my second photographer for this wedding, some of her lovely images are featured below! Pink wedding wands were waved as the couple made their grand exit and the groomsmen left a  pleasant surprise for the couple as their exiting gift.
